This is a bit of a sentimental song for me and Jeremy. I absolutely LOVE this song! Conor Oberst is the lead singer from Bright Eyes, and he has now gone solo and released a self-titled album on which according to Entertainment Weekly, “Conor sounds like Bright Eyes, only heightened–brighter, if you will: He’s emo balladeer, country rocker, and ferocious folkie rolled into one.”
The Dø is a French/Finnish indie pop band formed back in 2005. Their first studio album, A Mouthful, topped the french charts in 2008, making them the first French english-singing act to do so. Todays song, Too Insistent, is from the album Both Ways Open Jaws, and I can’t help but keep it on repeat!
I must admit…I have been a bit slack lately with getting posts up on the blog. I almost completely forgot about Tuesday Tunesday!
I have been absolutely obsessed with this band for the last couple of years. They have such a happy folksy sound. Every time I’m on a road trip, I absolutely blast this and sing at the top of my lungs. Great therapy.
Ok. Yes. The music video is slightly weird and off-putting. Perhaps just push play and then continue browsing in another window…
p.s. this song is best when played at high volume, accompanied by bad singing and crazy dancing, whilst simultaneously drying dishes.
Well, it’s that time again, ‘Tunesday.’ We have a jam-packed day today – meeting with the celebrant, then off to finalise everything with the event hire people, and lastly, I’m getting my hair and makeup trial done today! It’s so exciting seeing everything coming together!
When the sun’s out and I’m in a good mood (which is only one week out of every month, according to Jeremy!) Kishi Bashi gives the perfect vibe.
Are you like me, where you often have moments of wishing that music would simultaneously begin to play during a moment (good or bad), just like it does in the movies? I think that tops even flying on my wish list. I would just LOVE to walk down the street with a sweet beat to match my mood.
This one here would be perfect today!
I love finding out about local artists and bands. This one is a real gem. French for Rabbits is a Wellington based band whose dreamy, ethereal vibes are perfect for a lazy summer’s day…
